Love the print

This is my 5th pair of waterlust leggings! I wear them under my wetsuits and drysuit. I find the sports bras the most comfortable under the drysuit since there is no metal. I have ordered more since they have pockets!!! Getting into my 7mm is much easier with these.

I am curvy and tall. I started with a 1x but found they slipped down too much on the first 2 pair I bought (2019). Since I moved to a 2 x, I have found I am pulling them back up much less frequently and did I mention the pockets!!! The newer ones also feel thicker, which I prefer for the lighter colors. For size reference I am a US size 12 and 5'11" about 215lbs.

Fabulous print

Second pair of waterlust tights, really happy with them. Why can’t the shorts have the same gusseted crotch? Not a fan of the camel toe look.

Absolutely perfect

Soft, stretchy, fits well, not “see-through,” deep pockets, gorgeous pattern. Couldn’t have asked for a better product.

The greatest leggings of all time

These are SO bad ass, so we’ll patterned and so flattering. I love how they feel, and how I feel in them. I ended up buying 3 more sets of other prints based on the quality and design of these (and the matching top). All my friends love them and they feel so unique and very ME! Plus it looks like I’ve gotten toned and lost weight as soon as I put them on. What’s not to love?

Most comfortable Waterlust leggings yet!

The material is great - just a little stretchy to make them easy to don and doff. The pockets are big and able to easily hold your phone and wallet. You can tell how much time is put into them - the design matches across the seams and there are other little things here and there that speak to the quality of the leggings. I love them and can't wait to wear them and shoot some lionfish!

Known for their show stopping appearance, venomous spines, and voracious appetites, invasive Indo-Pacific lionfish (Pterois volitans & Pterois miles) are the first non-native marine fish to become established in the Atlantic. Lionfish pose a significant threat to local marine ecosystems due to widespread predation of native species, prolific reproduction, and lack of controlling predators.

ADVOCATE APPAREL INSPIRED BY the invasive lionfish (Pterois volitans & Pterois miles)

The issue

Lionfish in their native range, from the South Pacific to the Red Sea, are an important part of the coral reef ecosystem and population numbers are kept in check through natural processes.

However, they are non-native to the Atlantic ocean and have become established as a harmful invasive species in this region, posing a significant threat to local marine ecosystems due to widespread predation on native species, prolific reproduction, and lack of controlling predators. Humans must intervene to reduce their impact in the invaded waters, and our Invasive Lionfish collection exists to promote action and awareness on this issue.

Reported Lionfish Sightings 1985 - January 8, 2020

Beginning in the 1980's, two visually identical species of lionfish (Pterois miles and Pterois volitans) were introduced into the Atlantic via the US aquarium trade and have become the first non-native marine fish to become established in the Atlantic. Over the past decade, invasive lionfish densities in these non-native areas have exploded, as they have been documented along the entire US East Coast from Florida through Massachusetts, east to Bermuda and south throughout the Caribbean. The expansion has been extremely rapid and exponential in scope.

Reef Environmental Education Foundation REEF Logo

Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF)’s Invasive Species Program has been at the forefront of the lionfish invasion since the arrival of the species in Florida in 2006, and 10% of profits from your purchase goes to this program. REEF’s efforts have included laying the groundwork for developing early detection and rapid response plans to mitigate the impacts, training resource managers and dive operators in effective collecting techniques, and conducting innovative research to better understand what has made Indo-Pacific lionfish the perfect invader.

REEF was founded in 1990 out of growing concern about the health of the marine environment, and the desire to provide the public ways to contribute to the understanding and protection of marine populations. Visit www.REEF.org to learn more.
