Our sun shirts allow you to spend hours outside in the sun without overheating or cooking your largest organ in UV radiation. Lightweight, airy, stylish, and fun, sun protection as rad as you!
The coral reef ecosystems that cover our globe provide essential food and habitat to over 25% of all marine life. The parrotfish is a common animal found among these ecosystems and are a crucial keystone species, responsible for cleaning the corals from harmful algae. The abundance of parrotfish can be related directly to the health of our coral reef ecosystems.
Made from recycled materials and knitted into an ultra fine, lightweight fabric, think of it as the working persons stretchy silk. So silky smooth and cool to the touch, your skin literally gets goosebumps when you put it on, but stays shielded from the sun all day on the water. You can stand in an asphalt parking lot on a hot, humid, sunny day in Miami in July at noon and still feel cool. Yep, our test team tested it…reluctantly.

While parrotfish come in many amazing colors and patterns, this print is inspired by a male, terminal phase spotted parrotfish, native to the Indo-Pacific. Considered the most effective reef grazer, parrotfish serve an important function in maintaining the health of coral reefs. In fact, a 2014 IUCN report surveyed the health of Caribbean coral reefs from 1970-2012 and found that one of the most impactful actions we can take to restore the health of coral reef habitat is to protect parrotfish!

If that isn’t reason enough to love these bright and beautiful fish, an individual poops up to 200 lbs of sand a year, a critical source of sediment for beaches! For example, in Vakkaru Island in the Maldives, a 2015 study found that over 85% of their beach sand had been produced by parrotfish!
Your support helps Reef Relief improve and protect our coral reef ecosystem through education, advocacy, and grassroots community efforts. They have a wide variety of programs educating the public about coral reefs and encouraging community action, including school programs, their Coral Camp for kids, organized clean-ups, stenciling storm drains to discourage dumping, as well as policy work with their straw and sunscreen campaigns.
"Reef Relief is so grateful to expand our message of coral reef conservation through our partnership with Waterlust. They are an incredible company whose goals align with Reef Relief's to protect living coral. By purchasing items from the Parrotfish Protection Line you are giving back to Reef Relief's various educational programs and spreading awareness for coral reefs around the world."

I wore this rash shirt everyday that I went snorkeling on my latest trip to the Galápagos Islands. I especially liked having the hood to protect my head from the intense sun which increases by being on the water. It was helpful not to have to apply sunscreen to those areas covered by this shirt thus keeping the water and reefs free of unneeded chemicals. Everyone commented on how pretty the design was of the parrotfish and I felt like I blended right in with the dense schools of fish and marine animals. The material of the shirt was comfortable and protected me not only from the sun but also from any abrasions I might encounter while in the water. AAA+++ on the design of this shirt
another great design from Waterlust! I get so many compliments when I wear it, everyone loves the ponytail hole in the hoody too! I wear it sailing and swimming and chilling on the beach 😎
I love how crazy many compliments I get while decked out as a parrotfish! Mostly while kayaking, but I rock these at the gym or when grocery shopping too. Why? Soooo comfy, that’s why.
These are luxuriously soft against your skin, and work for running, boxing, even pushing the prowler sled!
For snorkeling in Monterey Bay, they won’t keep you warm and toasty, but they are a great layer for quick dips when you soft want to work your way into a wetsuit.
I’ve snorkeled in Hawaii in this suit, and it’s absolutely perfect!
I love these, and I own parrotfish as well as whale shark.
I can’t wait to get a set of orca tights and top!
Great quality and fit, nice long sleeves, beautiful prints! I like to protect my skin and tattoos when I dive or snorkel, and these are perfect. I love pairing with matching bottoms…
It's exactly as it looks in the photo, even after three years. I bought it as a gift, and the recipient still wears it regularly. Big win for everyone!
Love the colors.
