Epic design, handy side pockets and a perfect, comfy fit!

I am a coral reef scientist and in my spare time I teach kids about the impact of climate change on our oceans. I love wearing the Waterlust leggings when I do this because it instantly starts a conversation (eg, which ocean creature am I?). I've got turtle, tiger shark, whale shark, coral and ocean so far!

Comfortable and great sun protection!

I bought a pair of these for my summer field season in the tropical Pacific and they are wonderful. The leggings are very comfortable and offer great sun protection, without being too hot. Even when wet, they are not too heavy or clingy (anymore than they already were). I'm 5'2" and chose not to cut them to length, leaving the bottoms to pull down over my feet, which helps protect my feet in dive booties and reduces sunburn (although not on the toes!). Thus far, I have worn these leggings as regular pants, in a pool, and in salt water. They offer a bit more insulation than a swimsuit but fit comfortably under a wetsuit/similar exposure suit if you need extra thermal protection. I absolutely love the deep pockets.

Petite Turtle!

HI! Love the fabric!
I am petite, with a short waist. The size of the top (I got an XS/S) is good, around wise, however, it is too long under the breasts. So, I rolled it up. The leggings I got (M) are too big everywhere, but I am keeping them because I am afraid they will be too small if I get a XS/S. The waist is too long for me, and the legs are a bit loose. I guess I could send them back and get the XS/S, however, I am afraid they would be too small, and with leggings, I'd rather have too big than too small. The headband is fine, but I wanted the neck thingy, but it was sold out. The backside pattern of the leggings sits good. I read in another review that it wasn't flattering. It was on me. I just felt stellar as I was exercising and then doing yoga in my turtle outfit! You guys have a good thing going---keep at it!
We here in Northwest Louisiana, (RED RIVER) are always busy walking the trails, cleaning up our watersheds and introducing people to the outdoors and what is at stake.
A federal land we have here which is indeed a treasure, is the Red River Wildlife Refuge. Lake Caroline is connected to the river and during June and July is for our animals and plants to thrive without human interference.
We also have Bayou Pierre and The Coates Bluff Nature Trail, which is the original location for trading and business in this area which is now known as Shreveport. There is a 50 acre parcel just north of the Coate and is for sale for 1 million dollars and hopefully it will be purchased by someone who will not develop it. If this happens, it is likely the Coates Bluff Trail, and Bayou Pierre will be gone. Know anyone who has a mill?

Anyway, thanks for the work you're doing! Joanie

Dr. Fuentes with loggerhead turtle

A solitary species that rarely interacts with others outside of mating rituals, sea turtles struggle to survive from the day they hatch out of their egg. Sea turtle mortality rates are depressingly high, about 99% of juveniles will meet their demise before reaching sexual maturity. Dr. Mariana Fuentes is a marine conservation biologist at Florida State University and focuses her research on developing science-based solutions for the conservation and management of sea turtles. Her research group integrates field-based ecology with systematic conservation planning, decision theory approaches, climate modeling and applied qualitative and geographic spatial analysis to answer a series of ecological and management topics related to sea turtles.

10% of profits from your purchase will be donated to the FSU Marine Turtle Research, Ecology and Conservation Group, led by Dr. Mariana Fuentes, and will be used to fund two projects. The first initiative is to assess the effects that the recreational bay scallop fishery has on sea turtles in the Big Bend of Florida. Researchers will collect biological, ecological and spatial data on sea turtles in the region and use it to inform management practices to better protect these endangered species. The second is to increase night monitoring of St. George Island, Florida and to identify threats to turtles nesting there. The information gained will aid in identifying critical habitats and provide important information to better understand the size, nesting behaviors, and movements of sea turtles in the region.
