Coral reefs are one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. In fact, they offer so much diversity that they are considered the underwater rainforest. Throughout the globe, corals are declining from ocean warming, acidification, pollution, disease, and human interaction.

In North America, there is only one continental barrier reef - Florida’s Coral Reef. Since the 1970s, Florida’s Coral Reef has lost approximately 90% of its stony corals. When coral reefs decline, so does our "shield" against storm impacts. During Hurricane Irma in 2017, Looe Key reef saw swells exceeding 20 feet while Mote's Florida Keys campus nearby saw only 5-foot swells, thanks to the reef's protection. Coral reefs also support diverse marine life, including sportfish species that make Florida the fishing capital of the world. Florida's Coral Reef is an ecotourism destination, and in total it's estimated to contribute more than $8 billion to the state's economy.
Mote scientists are studying coral genetics and biology with the goal of growing and restoring corals that can withstand long-term challenges, including the climate-change impacts of warming water and ocean acidification. They are spearheading efforts to revitalize coral reefs in the Florida Keys and, using science-based restoration techniques, Mote has outplanted nearly 100,000 coral fragments since 2008. Corals outplanted by Mote have 90% survival after their first year, underscoring that their scientific approach is making a real difference.

The colour, quality and fit are amazing. They are comfortable and even after a 10km hike in the rain, they kept my body temp just right (I didn’t over heat or freeze). I haven’t tried these diving yet but I think so far, best tights ever! I love how they are made of plastic and that my money goes towards helping the ocean. That’s pretty important to me.
Please make a bikini in this fabric 🙏
I’m a size 10 aus (not very hippy but I’ve got long legs) and the size small fits awesome. Will definitely buy heaps more. God help my bank account!
I've been wearing these for "grandkids to the pool" excursions, so they've been seeing lots of chlorine. I wash after every wear, and so far so good. I love the blues of the seeweed pattern; they make me happy. The stretch is excellent, the "recycled" feel is not repellent, and I love the super-long length, which I have left as is. I could wish that they dried more quickly. They are also good compression-wear if the size you choose suits that purpose.
5'8". "slim/straight". 135-145, 72, bought size M. The only problem I have is my long waist vs the yoga-style waistband. The pants *will* keep slipping down, can't keep 'em up because they are just a tad too short in the rise, or too wide in the waistband, or something. Nevertheless, I like wearing them. Recommend.

I love love love the waterlust leggings. This is my 4th pair and I bought them because I want to leave this pair extra long to fully cover my ankles as I have proven myself incapable of keeping sunscreen on despite all my best efforts. I am very susceptible to sunburns and these leggings are a swimming essential for me.
Protects from the sun and is a layer of warmth in the water. Also a great protection from jellies and plankton. Love these pants, I have been buying for years. This color is really one of the best!
