Fantastic fit, feel, and durability

The first thing I noticed about this product is that they are NOT made of the usual thin material I am used to when it comes to swimwear. Aside from the sheer awesomeness of being made from recycled plastic, these shorts have a great thickness without feeling stiff. In fact, I usually have to buy swimwear with an additional lining to feel as if I'm not showing everything to the world but these are thick enough that no liner is needed. Another major benefit is that they don't stretch and loose shape like most swimwear. Chlorine is hard on fabric so I always accepted the thinning and stretching of previous swimwear but now I see that it's possible to avoid this issue!

I've been wearing these shorts for my regular swim workouts (3-4 times a week) for about 7 weeks now. They have not lost their shape, or stretched out, or faded. They look brand new! I'm honestly so impressed.

They're also super comfortable and the design/fabric is gorgeous. I'm a big whale shark fan so it was an easy choice to grab this design!

For sizing, I'm a tall gal at 5'11, wear a size 8-12 depending on the brand, and weigh about 180lbs. I got a size large and think they're perfect. Currently trying to lose some additional lbs so might need to size down in the future. For now, these fit very well; close to the body without digging in.

I love to swim and these shorts are a game changer for me. I usually wear swim capris because I'm so self-conscious of my thighs but these are just the right length. The quality and durability of the fabric means I am not replacing my costume every 6 months. I'm a lifelong fan now!! I cannot recommend this item enough. ❤️

Very comfortable. I also love all the patterns and the cause. Everyone should be working on saving our plant.

Love it!

Love these shorts & the fabric is great quality. However if using this for scuba you should be very careful with the Velcro and other parts of the equipment snagging on them. Sadly I ruined mine on the first day but that’s on me. I followed the size chart and got a size L but I probably could have sized down one size.

I really love them

These are great so far

Surprised and delighted

I can’t always find good shorts with good fit - but these have a high enough rise to cover my bum but still look great. Pockets are deep. Only feedback is about the leg hems - they’re a little bulky so they rub a bit. But I love these and may be going back for another pair!

Updated----(Received wrong size)

Edited to say---I got a size bigger than I ordered---so what. They weren't so big that they didn't function, and I didn't drown in them. They were actually quite perfect for a week of diving and will stay at the top of my list for go to dive gear in terms of comfort and quality---for those places that don't require a wetsuit. I will order another pair, in a different print, for future dive adventures.

I will also note the excellent customer service I received from Waterlust---it went beyond the comment y'all can see here. They were fantastic.

(Although I ordered Legendary, I received Extra Legendary. Which doesn't seem to be a bad thing. Yes, slightly bigger than I wanted, which could pose an issue while diving, however the shorts themselves are awesome! The print is spot on, the fabric appears to be of good quality. Looking forward to testing these out on our dive trip coming up.)

Hi Rebecca - So sorry to hear you received the wrong size from what you ordered, thanks for letting us know! We're happy to exchange that out quickly for you, of course, and get you the size you ordered if you'd like? I'll shoot you a quick email now to see if we can help.

ADVOCATE APPAREL INSPIRED BY THE LARGEST FISH IN THE SEA,THE WHALE SHARK (RHINCODON TYPUS)

Marine Megafauna Foundation LogoWhale sharks (Rhincodon typus) are fish, not whales - allowing them to hold the esteemed title of "largest fish in the sea" (since sharks are fish too!). These charismatic creatures can reach lengths of 12 meters (40 feet) or more! Despite their large size, they feed on some of the smallest organisms in the sea, plankton. Hanging vertically in the water column they're able to suction feed and filter these tiny organisms through their gill rakers much like a giant vacuum cleaner pulls dust and dirt from a kitchen floor, filtering the fragments into its chamber within. Unfortunately, approximately 100 million sharks are killed every year by humans, through direct targeted fishing efforts as well as unintended bycatch from other fisheries. The whale shark is one species of shark that is particularly vulnerable to this commercial fishing due to their high value in international trade, in addition to their highly migratory nature and normally low abundance.

Research into the lives of these gentle giants can help us to manage their populations and keep these magnificent fish in the ocean where they belong. The Marine Megafauna Foundation is one group that is helping to shed light on the population structure, migratory patterns and the conservation requirements of these threatened sharks. Created in 2009, they aim to research, protect and conserve the large populations of marine megafauna (large marine species) found along the Mozambican coastline. Almost all whale sharks encountered by divers are juveniles and most are males. Where the school-bus-sized mature sharks swim, what they eat and where the females give birth has long been a mystery, however their team is now very close to making these discoveries. 10% of profits from your purchase will go to the Marine Megafauna Foundation for satellite tags that are needed to track the movements of these large female whale sharks.
