Stony corals are essential reef-builders that form the foundation and framework for coral reef ecosystems. They do this by using calcium and carbonate ions in seawater to create limestone skeletons like the one this print is inspired by. These structures are home to some of the most biologically diverse habitats on Earth and help protect coastal communities from storms and hurricanes. 5% of sales will be donated to University of Miami's Rescue a Reef, a non-profit organization that protects and revives coral ecosystems through innovative techniques, citizen science expeditions, and spreading awareness about the importance of coral conservation.
Our signature fabric is sleek, soft, and luxurious, while strong, substantial, and resilient. It's got a gummy, supportive, and smoothing stretchiness you'll love, comfortably hugging you in all the right places.
88% Repreve® RPET (recycled polyester made from post-consumer plastic bottles), 12% spandex
Safe, premium performance yarns: Our high-quality, fully traceable yarns are sourced through sustainable partners in the U.S. These materials meet rigorous chemical safety standards and are independently verified for over 1,000 harmful substances like BPA and PFAS through OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification.
High-quality, responsible printing: Our products are printed using heat transfer sublimation, a printing technique that is widely considered to be the safest for both workers and the environment. It requires no water, eliminates dye from entering water systems, and minimizes ink and fabric waste. All the inks and dyes we use are also OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified.
Recycled materials, minimal waste: Our commitment to environmental responsibility starts with sustainable fibers and yarns. We use synthetic yarns made from recycled plastic bottles, which helps remove and repurpose existing plastic.

Coral reefs are critical underwater ecosystems that host and support a dazzling array of marine life and play a vital role in protecting coastlines from erosion, supporting fisheries, and driving tourism. These vibrant and biodiverse habitats are essential for maintaining the health of our oceans and sustaining both marine and human communities. Protecting coral reefs is key to safeguarding the balance of life in our oceans and ensuring a sustainable future.
The most significant problem facing coral reefs is black and white: climate change.
Climate change is exerting devastating impacts on coral reefs, primarily through rising sea temperatures and ocean acidification. Elevated sea temperatures lead to coral bleaching, where corals expel their symbiotic algae, causing them to lose their vibrant colors and leaving the corals weak and susceptible to diseases. Additionally, increased atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are driving ocean acidification, which hinders the ability of corals to build their calcium carbonate skeletons. These combined stressors make corals more susceptible to diseases and hinder their ability to recover from physical damage, posing a significant threat to these vital marine ecosystems and the rich biodiversity they support.
Our Rescue a Reef team is incredibly grateful for all the awareness and support Waterlust raises through the Coral Conservation print products! Corals are critical reef-builders and the bedrock of healthy oceans so we are thrilled this print embodies that. With your help, we can conserve and restore their future!
Dalton Hesley, Program Manager
University of Miami's Rescue a Reef Program
Rescue a Reef was developed in 2015 to raise public awareness and action on coral conservation through educational and experiential activities. This includes hosting citizen science field expeditions led by UM coral researchers that provide a unique, hands-on opportunity for recreational SCUBA divers and snorkelers to participate directly!
Through these citizen science expeditions, participants learn about the critical role coral reefs play in our environment and economy, threats they face, and tools available for their conservation and recovery; all the while conducting real-world coral research.
I am in LOVE. This is my 3rd racerback tank top from Waterlust and I love how bright and pinky the coral color is. As a diver, this is the perfect top to go under a wetsuit or sun shirt. Fits nice and flat, perfectly smooth look with sun shirts in the field. I also wear them often to workout and as a tank top under clothes. This is my top travel item and I wear/bring it everywhere. What I like most is that they do not fade in the sun. They retain their fit/shape and are very durable. 100000/10!
Very well made, good quality. I thought that the interior color would be a light pink but it is more peach color. Anyway it fits very well and I love it!
The look is amazing and fit even better- the only complaint is that the reversible side which is bright orange, to put it bluntly, makes the details of your nipples very visible. I still absolutely love this item and just may not wear it reversed as often as i originally thought! But the coral print is so nice I don’t have any issues with that! Shipping was quick and return process to get the correct sizing was even better. I am a 38DDD and got an XL and it’s supportive too!
