Educational resources & donation included with every purchase. Learn more.

Designed for diving, snorkeling, swimming, surfing, kiting, winging... you get the idea. If the ocean is your happy place but you recognize the importance of skin protection, these suits are for you! Versatile too - wear it alone or as a base layer to help you easily slip in and out of your wetsuit on those colder days.

Intimidating stripes cover one of the ocean’s largest apex predators. Sitting atop the marine food pyramid, tiger sharks play a significant role in balancing the tropical and temperate water ecosystem, which is why we celebrate their beauty and support research that informs the management of their population.

Advocate Apparel Inspired by tiger sharks (Galeocerdo cuvier)

Tiger sharks are classified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as “Near Threatened”, and thus, research, education and outreach is essential to ensuring healthy populations. As one of the ocean’s largest predators, these critical species sit at the top of the food chain, helping to regulate the delicate balance of populations of those beneath in the ecosystem. Decreased populations can result in trophic cascades, impacting the abundance and behavior of other species lower on the food chain.

Multiple research methods have shown that some species of sharks have declined in population by 90% or more during the last several decades in areas where they were formerly abundant. These declines are due to direct targeting in commercial fisheries, mostly for their fins and sometimes meat. Additionally, sharks are often caught unintentionally as bycatch in many other fisheries, caught and killed in some recreational fisheries (unlike catch and release), and may also be impacted by humans more indirectly through threats like habitat loss, pollution, and human-driven declines in the fish species sharks rely on for food.

"We are so proud of our collaboration with Waterlust. Not only does their support help enable our shark conservation research, but the apparel itself is a walking billboard for marine conservation. I love it when people on the street stop to ask me about my tiger shark board shorts. It's an opportunity to start a conversation about the wonders and perils faced by sharks and how the average person can help make a difference.”

Looking forward to the next river trip!

Every year I get the nastiest sunburn on our river trips, no matter how much I reapply. This time that won't be happening! And I get to support sharks at the same time!

Great suit-as expected

The size, print, and material are as expected. Ordered a large and it fit perfectly.

Spectacular

I Love this suit so much that I have just purchased the Sun-Kissed Sea full body and the Mantis Moxie Sun Suit to wear with my Mantis leggings. I Adore this company and what they stand for which makes it easy to purchase from them however the fact that their products are amazing will clearly keep me coming back as well as singing their praises to others. Every time I wear this suit people (men and women) stop me to ask where I got it. As you can see in the photo's I also wear the matching ball cap on less sunny days. I try to stay as covered up as possible. I am 5'7' 130 lbs and I am wearing the Small.

Beautiful but runs small

Love the print and thumbholes! Wish they offered true extended sizing, this ran 1-2 sizes small. I may have been able to get away with a stretchier/lighter weight fabric but alas they went with a compressive, thick fabric that feels too constricting and hot for SoCal. There should be more room in the shoulders for swimming!

Great!

I'm 5'10" and 180lb and got an M. If was nice and skin tight but still allowed for full movement. I'm excited to use it to go diving in the Caribbean.

Feels and looks great

I'm super late reviewing this as I bought it in 2023, but since then I've worn it a handful of times to the beach and public pool. It fits great (I'm 5'4" and bought a Small/Strong), and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. One thing to note, and this may just be a me thing as I get cold easily, but since this isn't a wetsuit and isn't meant to be insulating I do find that after I've gotten wet I get extremely cold once I'm out of the water. I bought this mostly to hide my tattoos from the sun so this isn't a big deal, but ideally you'd want to use this for swimming when it's very hot out or if you have something dry to change into immediately after. Overall, I love it!
