The Tide Never Quits Tee

The Tide Never Quits tee is a design meant to remind us that while the ebbs and floods of governance may yank us in different directions, inclusive science always prevails. That’s because science is not an ideology or political flavor of the moment. It’s a process that illuminates facts, and facts guide humanity’s most important decisions. We build bridges with physics. We fight cancer with biology. We power the world with chemistry.

Science may be under attack right now, but it will survive because it works. This tee symbolizes that important truth.

BUT, while science will be okay in the long run, there are many scientists today who are not. Students who had their funding rescinded because their research mentions “women” too many times. Talented scientists that are being​ fired, then rehired, then fired, then rehired based not on the merit of their work, but on some vague pursuit of "efficiency"...whatever that means. All this and more has fueled an offensive narrative that so many of our best scientific minds are lazy, unnecessary, entitled, and based on how they’ve been treated recently, worthless.

And it couldn't be further from the truth.

That is why we’re donating 100% of the profits from this shirt to the American Geophysical Union (AGU), which has been supporting scientists for over 100 years, and is leading the charge to defend them today.
