The coral reef ecosystems that cover our globe provide essential food and habitat to over 25% of all marine life. The parrotfish is a common animal found among these ecosystems and are a crucial keystone species who are responsible for cleaning the corals from harmful algae. The abundance of parrotfish can be related directly to the health of our coral reef ecosystems.

While parrotfish come in many amazing colors and patterns, this print is inspired by a male, terminal phase spotted parrotfish, native to the Indo-Pacific. Considered the most effective reef grazer, parrotfish serve an important function in maintaining the health of coral reefs. In fact, a 2014 IUCN report surveyed the health of Caribbean coral reefs from 1970-2012 and found that one of the most impactful actions we can take to restore the health of coral reef habitat is to protect parrotfish!

If that isn’t reason enough to love these bright and beautiful fish, an individual poops up to 200 lbs of sand a year, a critical source of sediment for beaches! For example, in Vakkaru Island in the Maldives, a 2015 study found that over 85% of their beach sand had been produced by parrotfish!
Your support helps Reef Relief improve and protect our coral reef ecosystem through education, advocacy, and grassroots community efforts. They have a wide variety of programs educating the public about coral reefs and encouraging community action, including school programs, their Coral Camp for kids, organized clean-ups, stenciling storm drains to discourage dumping, as well as policy work with their straw and sunscreen campaigns.
"Reef Relief is so grateful to expand our message of coral reef conservation through our partnership with Waterlust. They are an incredible company whose goals align with Reef Relief's to protect living coral. By purchasing items from the Parrotfish Protection Line you are giving back to Reef Relief's various educational programs and spreading awareness for coral reefs around the world."

Pros: This top has the quality Waterlust fabric and is reversible giving you two distinct looks in one piece. True to size.
Considerations:
- no modesty lining in the chest - if you tend to nip out this will still be noticeable, though busy print helps it not be as noticeable
- no under breast band for support. it basically smashes your boobs against your chest for support
- straps are not adjustable in length.
- basically feels like you’re wearing a long line sports bra but without the bottom band.
I list out all of the above since based on my preferences, this piece just doesn’t get used as much as I’d hoped. I prefer more support and modestly liners up top so I find I am only comfortable in this if I also wear a bikini top under it. But this doesn’t offer a whole lot of sun coverage or in water protection so I still tend to wear a rash guard. I’m which case what’s the point of also wearing this as an extra layer? I tried just wearing it as lounge wear around the house or for yoga but the bottom edge does start to inch up or bunch as I bend or twist more.
I’d only recommend this to anyone is ok without the modesty liner or bottom band, and who’s comfortable in long line sports bras.
I have some of the Waterlust swim suit tops that have come out in the last year or so and much prefer those over this.
THE PARROTFISH PATTERN IS EYECATCHY WITH ITS AQUAS AND PINKS AND HINTS OF YELLOW. PEOPLE REALLY LIKE TO SEE THE PATTERN AND LEARN A BIT ABOUT THE FISH. SWIMMING IN IT IS EASY AS IT IS MADE WITH A SILKY FEEL THAT ZIPS THROUGH THE WATER. IT NEVER LOSES ITS SHAPE. (YOU KNOW HOW A BRA CAN BE IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OFF WHEN DAMP OR WET?) THIS BRA TOP IS SUPER EASY TO GET OFF AFTER SWIMMING-NO STRUGGLING. THE DESIGN HOLDS MY BOOBS UP, YET THE TOP HAS A VERY RELAXED FEEL. I WEAR THIS WITH A BLACK SWIM BOTTOM, ALSO BY WATERLUST. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM. I AM 6'1" TALL AND WEIGH ABOUT 170. I FEEL PERFECTLY COVERED WITH A BIT OF SASSY.
Shirt and shorts are great! Use them as a swim suit. Love them
I bought this one as a gift for my sister as she’s a runner, and she loves the bright colors and the snug fit. It provides enough support while being cute and bringing awareness to our special sealife.
Fit and quality ard perfect!
Loved it so much, this is my second one. Love the bright pink, and the parrotfish design. My boobs are covered and secure, and free at the same time. Top doesnt stretch out and lose it's shape. Very hot and stylish.
