Omg love them!!

So excited that I love these!! They fit great, plenty of room at the parts needed to stay agile. The colors are darker then the pictures shown. Never the less the design is still cool.
Pockets are sensational!
I live in RI where there are tons of salt water. Give an update later on how the fabric takes the waters here.
Thanks so much for all your hard work at waterlust!!

Just order ‘em!!!

Perfectly compressive without being too constricting, and amazing design! I’m 5’3” and trim them so they are the perfect inseam length without any worry of shrinkage or threading- I’ve ordrered other leggings in the past and can say they definitely hold up! Love you, Waterlust!

Pretty Pattern, Practical Pockets, and Perfect Fit for Sailing and Beach Yoga

My favorite feature of these leggings is the deep side pockets for stashing my cell phone and sailing gear (knife, strobe light, compass, whistle, electrical tape, etc.) As a perfectionist, I appreciate how closely the lovely lionfish pattern matches at the seams--it's not quite perfect, but it's definitely better than any other brand. I bought these leggings primarily to protect my legs from UV radiation and minor abrasions during yacht races on the Great Lakes. So far, so good. The fabric feels durable and quite breathable. I had hoped it would dry a bit more swiftly, though. It took over an hour after wading in the lake for the ankles to dry, so I will still be kind of cold and wet for a while when waves splash over the rail. As for the fit, I am 5'6", my current weight is ~165 lbs, waist 30", hips 40-41", preferred inseam 29", and the mighty M size was just right through both the hips and the waist, so kudos there! The waistband does roll down a bit more than Lululemons but only when I am folding forward. I wish they came in pre-cut inseam lengths since I don't feel comfortable cutting the material myself. Nevertheless, I look forward to wearing these leggings this summer during beach yoga and hopefully horesbackriding in the Outer Banks as well. The included lionfish recipe was a bit disturbing since I am a vegetarian. If I had known this particular pattern's charity was aggressively encouraging people to kill and eat fish, I would have chosen a different one. Maybe you could catch them in the Atlantic Ocean and release them back into the Pacific Ocean instead? I do admire the eco-friendliness of this product, made from recycled plastic that would otherwise be polluting our oceans. I also bought the Atlantic Spotted Dolphin Leggings and feel much more comfortable supporting marine mammal conservation research.

Great for Diving, Snorkeling, and Yoga on the beach!

I purchased these leggings before a trip to Belize. The warm water made a wetsuit not necessary for the dives, but it was cool enough that having these leggings was well worth it! The pattern is beautiful and also helped us keep an eye out for the matching fish in order to hunt them. I love the phone pocket for on dry land. I also got the matching top which is a beautiful color on the solid reversible side.

ADVOCATE APPAREL INSPIRED BY the invasive lionfish (Pterois volitans & Pterois miles)

The issue

Lionfish in their native range, from the South Pacific to the Red Sea, are an important part of the coral reef ecosystem and population numbers are kept in check through natural processes.

However, they are non-native to the Atlantic ocean and have become established as a harmful invasive species in this region, posing a significant threat to local marine ecosystems due to widespread predation on native species, prolific reproduction, and lack of controlling predators. Humans must intervene to reduce their impact in the invaded waters, and our Invasive Lionfish collection exists to promote action and awareness on this issue.

Reported Lionfish Sightings 1985 - January 8, 2020

Beginning in the 1980's, two visually identical species of lionfish (Pterois miles and Pterois volitans) were introduced into the Atlantic via the US aquarium trade and have become the first non-native marine fish to become established in the Atlantic. Over the past decade, invasive lionfish densities in these non-native areas have exploded, as they have been documented along the entire US East Coast from Florida through Massachusetts, east to Bermuda and south throughout the Caribbean. The expansion has been extremely rapid and exponential in scope.

Reef Environmental Education Foundation REEF Logo

Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF)’s Invasive Species Program has been at the forefront of the lionfish invasion since the arrival of the species in Florida in 2006, and 10% of profits from your purchase goes to this program. REEF’s efforts have included laying the groundwork for developing early detection and rapid response plans to mitigate the impacts, training resource managers and dive operators in effective collecting techniques, and conducting innovative research to better understand what has made Indo-Pacific lionfish the perfect invader.

REEF was founded in 1990 out of growing concern about the health of the marine environment, and the desire to provide the public ways to contribute to the understanding and protection of marine populations. Visit www.REEF.org to learn more.
