Like you, our leggings are amphibious, meaning they are equally at home underwater or on land. Whether protecting your skin from UV radiation at the beach, wicking away sweat and heat at the gym, or hugging your bodacious bits in all the right ways while sipping nay nay on the couch (#nojudgement), these are the most versatile pants on the planet. And yes, they have pockets.

Made from post-consumer bottles AND old textiles through our Take-Back Program. We collect your old clothes, put them in a wood chipper (joking…kinda), and convert them into fiber, then fabric, then back into brand new clothing. Because textile waste comes in different colors, the resulting recycled fiber ends up looking brown, like a child finger-painting with ALL the colors at once kind of brown. Yuk! To fix this mess, the fibers are dyed black during the recycling process.

    1. Raw hem and internally stitched bar-tacks allow for customizable inseam lengths of 31”, 29”, 27”, 25”, and 23”. Crop to 7/8ths length or customize for your height. Learn how here.
    2. Streamlined pockets on the side of both legs for your phone, wallet, snacks, or sunscreen
    3. UPF 50+ sun protection (max rating available)
    4. Fibers mechanically engineered for quick dry, moisture-wicking, and breathability
    5. Resilient 4-way stretch and recovery for shape retention in and out of the water
    6. Tag-less, wide waistband for comfort, added security and fold-over option
    7. 100% chlorine, sun, saltwater and sunscreen resistant

Apparel that supports textile recycling

According to the EPA, 87% of apparel textiles are not recycled annually in the United States, meaning millions of tons of old clothes are piled into landfills every year. While recycling infrastructure exists for things like plastic bottles and aluminum cans, textile recycling is far less developed and accessible. This is a missed opportunity because the raw materials within some kinds of clothing (like ours!) can be used to create entirely new fabric, as long as it’s done carefully. By purchasing products made from recycled textiles, you are financially supporting the infrastructure that enables recycling to happen and signaling to manufacturers that you value circularity.

In the world of environmentally responsible fabrics, we think there are two clear leaders from an end-of-life perspective: those that are entirely made from natural fibers, and those made entirely of synthetic fibers. 100% natural fabrics like organic cotton are beneficial because they are biodegradable and recyclable, while 100% synthetic fabrics are beneficial because they are recyclable. Fabrics that blend natural and synthetic fibers together are not currently biodegradable or recyclable with today’s technology, which is why we don’t make them.

Black Circularity Leggings

I love these leggings. I do not live near the ocean, but I love to hike, and these are the best hiking pants ever. They’re durable, comfortable and don’t look dirty easily… A plus when you need to pack light!

Best Customer Service!

Thank you Waterlust for the best customer service. I'm always anxious about purchasing clothing online for fit issues and I had issues with fit with the original pairs that I purchased though I tried to pick the best fit based on the model sizing. Customer service was able to help me realize I needed to order up a size and that made all the difference! These are very slick leggings with not as high a waist as I'm used to so if you're like me, they may take some getting used to. I love how these feel on me and now they don't roll down my belly every time I move!

Awesome & versatile!

To keep my bags light on my trip to Raja Ampat I wore my Waterlust leggings. Super comfy and warm for traveling. Now have about 23 dives with them. Great for diving, snug and plenty warm. 30c water diving with my skins and a shark skin dive top. Bought 2 sets of skins to rotate between dives. And I’d say 50% of the women on this trip are wearing Waterlust. So it’s a hit for function and cute! I will be buying more :)
