Black Circularity Sun Suit

Educational resources included with every purchase. Learn more.

A soft, stretchy, and resilient long-sleeve suit that blocks over 98% of harmful UVA and UVB radiation from the sun (UPF50+, the highest rating achievable) and protects you from stinging critters.

Made from post-consumer bottles AND old textiles through our Take-Back Program. We collect your old clothes, put them in a wood chipper (joking…kinda), and convert them into fiber, then fabric, then back into brand new clothing. Because textile waste comes in different colors, the resulting recycled fiber ends up looking brown, like a child finger-painting with ALL the colors at once kind of brown. Yuk! To fix this mess, the fibers are dyed black during the recycling process.

    1. UPF 50+ sun protection (max rating achievable)
    2. Fibers mechanically engineered for quick-dry, moisture-wicking and breathability
    3. Resilient 4-way stretch and recovery for shape retention in and out of the water
    4. 100% chlorine, sun, salt water, and sunscreen resistant
    5. Thumbholes at wrists, and medium back booty coverage
    6. Wide keyhole entry makes the suit super easy to slip into, no matter your fabulous curves! (Trust us, we’ve had A LOT of people in and our of these babies!)
    7. Adjustable tie closure around the neck.
    8. Raglan cut sleeves for great range of shoulder movement
    9. No shelf bra or padding. For more support, we suggest wearing a swim top underneath
    10. Tag-less for comfort
  • 88% Repreve® RPET (recycled polyester made from recycled clothing and post-consumer plastic bottles), 12% spandex

Apparel that supports textile recycling

According to the EPA, 87% of apparel textiles are not recycled annually in the United States, meaning millions of tons of old clothes are piled into landfills every year. While recycling infrastructure exists for things like plastic bottles and aluminum cans, textile recycling is far less developed and accessible. This is a missed opportunity because the raw materials within some kinds of clothing (like ours!) can be used to create entirely new fabric, as long as it’s done carefully. By purchasing products made from recycled textiles, you are financially supporting the infrastructure that enables recycling to happen and signaling to manufacturers that you value circularity.

In the world of environmentally responsible fabrics, we think there are two clear leaders from an end-of-life perspective: those that are entirely made from natural fibers, and those made entirely of synthetic fibers. 100% natural fabrics like organic cotton are beneficial because they are biodegradable and recyclable, while 100% synthetic fabrics are beneficial because they are recyclable. Fabrics that blend natural and synthetic fibers together are not currently biodegradable or recyclable with today’s technology, which is why we don’t make them.

great suit!

i got this to play with the kids in the public pool (thumb holes and full arms are great playing with the kids at 85 degrees, though it's thick enough that i think it'd be warm if i were swimming laps. i'll test it out) a little more butt coverage would be nice - i'm 5'6" and the cut is a little high.

Love the thumb holes!

I was so excited to find a swimsuit that wasn't a thong. Seriously. It's so comfy and I feel badass in it. It has little thumb holes too. Super cute detail.
