Almost Perfect

I've only bought their leggings and I'm enjoying the same amazing fabric in this sun suit. I love the protective and supportive feel of the fabric. The parrot fish pattern is gorgeous. It was very comfortable under my shortie scuba suit.
The zipper is nice and strong and I feel confident it will last.
It is a tad tight in the neck. I wish there was a convenient way to tuck away the pull string on the zipper.

Perfect for any age (almost)!

I love this sunsuit! Even as a fit 71-year-old, I no longer want as much "exposure" as my competition-style suits provide. I purchased several other brands of body suits (all too "granny-like") before I stumbled upon Waterlust and fell in love with your advocate apparel concept. I bought my first sunsuit with matching shorts a year ago in anticipation of a dive trip to St Lucia. Having had recent back surgery resulting in multiple back & belly scars and being sun-sensitive, I found this to be the perfect combination of coverage, sun protection, and warmth for diving. My COVID-delayed trip to St. Lucia is coming up in a few weeks and the Parrotfish sunsuit and shorts will be perfect for all of my diving, swimming and beach activities. Thanks for a great product and for your advocacy for marine life!

Fits perfect except neck is tight against laryngeal prominence

I am 5’6.5” and 150 lb. The Medium fits perfect, however, the neck fabric fits tight against my laryngeal prominence (adam’s apple) even when the suit is not zipped up. I expect that it will feel looser when swimming laps in the ocean and I love it so much otherwise that I am going to keep it. I don’t think I would be able to wear it all day conducting fieldwork though, so I am looking forward to the release of the sun shirts/rash guards in these fun new prints!

Parrot Fish in the Pool

Hi, I am Libby Heineken. I have a PhD in Art Education and I am also an artist. I paint sea life and coastal designs and love to support organizations and businesses who support our coastal environments. I was immediately attracted to your designs. I also teach 4 water classes every week for older adults. I purchased the parrot sun suit and I could not be happier. The suit was such a hit for my pool pilates class members and I received numerous requests to pass on your website. I hope that you will receive numerous orders from our sweet little group! I love the product, and am definitely interested in purchasing more. -Honestly, I am in the pool for two hours or more on the days that I teach- I want to make sure the suit holds up in the chlorine environment.-
You have created a wonderful product, website and purpose. Congratulations! -Libby Heineken

Who doesn’t love a parrotfish?

The pattern and color are fabulous! The fabric is just heavy enough to let you stay submerged and comfy for hours. The fit worked ok for me, but I would prefer slightly less cheeky cut. Not actually thong-ish, like some swimwear, but a tad more coverage might feel more securely 'seated' in all situations

Thanks for the prompt shipping and excellent customer service. But most of all thank you for all you are doing for our oceans!

Great as expected!

I honestly love this company and feel good about buying from them knowing they support causes that are important to me. I’ve purchased from them in the past, however this was my first sun suit. I love it! It fits me great. I’m 5’5” and about 175lbs and got a large, or legendary. I can’t wait to use it under my wetsuit for my local dive shop’s underwater pumpkin carving event!

ADVOCATE APPAREL INSPIRED BY the Spotted Parrotfish (cetoscarus ocellatus)

While parrotfish come in many amazing colors and patterns, this print is inspired by a male, terminal phase spotted parrotfish, native to the Indo-Pacific. 10% of profits from any purchase of Parrotfish Protection gear will be donated to Reef Relief to improve and protect our coral reef ecosystem through education, advocacy, and grassroots community efforts.

Considered the most effective reef grazer, Parrotfish serve an important function in maintaining the health of coral reefs. In fact, a 2014 IUCN report surveyed the health of Caribbean coral reefs from 1970-2012 and found that one of the most impactful actions we can take to restore the health of coral reef habitat is to protect parrotfish! And if that isn’t reason enough to love these bright and beautiful fish, an individual poops up to 200 lbs of sand a year, a critical source of sediment for beaches! For example, in Vakkaru Island in the Maldives, a 2015 study found that over 85% of their beach sand had been produced by parrotfish!
