The interface where air and water meet is a magical place, the physical crossroad where terrestrial and aquatic life on Earth interact. But not only is it our gateway to the submerged, the water's surface is also where heat is transferred to and from the atmosphere. Imagine this energy flowing through you the next time you float suspended between these two worlds.

Advocate Apparel Inspired by coastal resiliency

Approximately 40% of humans on Earth live within 100km of the ocean and currently 190 million people globally live at elevations below the projected high tide line for 2100 under low carbon emission conditions. In other words, the water is coming and we need to prepare!

Coastal resiliency is a term used to describe the ability of a community to “bounce back" after hazardous events such as hurricanes, coastal storms, and flooding – rather than simply reacting to impacts, and it is becoming one of the most important fields of study in science & engineering.

"The SUSTAIN laboratory's collaboration with Waterlust has been a great way to engage students in outreach. So many of them at all levels are interested in bringing our research on hurricanes and climate resilience to the general public. I also often show some of the Waterlust videos in my classes to highlight to the students how engaging this work can be when presented in an interesting way."

Beautifully protected

My wife and I both acquired Sun shirts, hers is the Sun Kissed Sea, and mine the Tiger Shark Trailblazer. We got them for use during our kayaking adventures. Today, we both went out on our colorful, head turning garments.
We wanted to enhance face protection, and have long sleeves, since we live in the tropics. We use zinc oxide sun screen, paddling head gear, but we wanted yet another layer of protection, without frying under the sun.
These shirts are awesome! The hood protects what the other items can't, the long sleeves cover our arms, and the material is breathable and cool.
Thank you so much, we'll be coming back for more!

I've wanted one of these tops for years and finally splurge. I love it! You can tell from the stitching they are made well, the fabric has a great feel, and all the details are perfectly executed (sleeves long enough I can use the thumb holes without it cutting into my hands? Yes!). Very, very happy with this purchase.

Vibrant colors, great fit, strong material

I haven't had a chance to wear it in the water, but I have tried it on. The fit is relaxed, yet not frumpy. The colors are bright and vibrant, like a sun-kissed sea. The material is silky and strong, feeling good on the skin in the heat. The thumbholes are great for protecting hands in the sun. I am 5'3", 134 athletic, and I purchased the S. It is perfect!

Comfortable in the Water

I took my sun shirt out to the lake for some sun protection and wore it into the water. It stays wet for a long time, which adds a nice cooling factor for a hot day. Make sure to get the thumb holes on the right side of your hands before getting wet, as it's hard to readjust the sleeves when wet.

Beautiful print, perfect fit, and I feel like an ocean champ when I wear it!

Being a girl is one of my most favorite parts of life. All things sparkly, have flowers, or embroidery make me happy when I'm out doing my sports. If you look great, you surf great! This shirt checks all my boxes and more. I have been looking for a company that makes rash guards made of recycled fibers but have to be pretty and well made at the same time.
Waterlust takes that to a level I didn't know existed until a friend of ours was wearing some of their pieces.
Since then I have purchased several of their items the most recent this rash guard. I am a red head and always running from the sun so the hood is perfect and the long arms with reinforced thumbholes are designed and made for comfort and fit.
I am so stoked to be a champion of what this company does when wearing my WL clothing and passing this on for others to enjoy too.
Thank you for all that you do Waterlust and for all the interesting emails and information you share with us too!
